The Rochester Ferry catamaran has been brought back by the city of Rochester with the determination of the Rochester Mayor and the staunch supporters of the Rochester Ferry including the city council and the community at large.  Service for the Rochester Ferry will be resumed in late April early May 2005 .The necessary work in order to launch the Rochester Ferry service will start immediately.  The Toronto Port Authority is continuing to build a new terminal for the Rochester Ferry.

 

Torontonians have hoped Rochester Ferry would sail soon. And our holiday wish to sail on the Rochester Ferry is coming through. The Rochester ferry is a very positive thing for Toronto. Customs on both sides of the border will allow walk on passengers, drivers and truckers to use the Rochester Ferry as a shortcut across the lake. The Rochester Ferry launch is a positive move for both Toronto and Rochester alike.
